Welcome to our rotating 100% Canadian Wool collection. Each year we work with a Canadian farm and/or mill to bring you a limited edition base that is born, raised, grown, and milled in Canada. Our goal is to bring you a homegrown product that supports our farming and fibre industry while expanding your fibre world to the incredibly diverse sheep breeds we tend across this land. We hope that by understanding more about where your yarn comes from you will feel as connected to your woollen items as we feel to our farmers, millers, and lovingly dyed yarns. The bases and colours will not be repeated, so think of these rotating offerings as a type of exclusive yarn club. 

2026 Grasslands: 

This robust 2-ply fingering weight yarn is a blend of Corriedale and Targhee range sheep from the grasslands of Saskatchewan and Manitoba. Range sheep are incredibly adaptable to grazing the sparse native grasslands, converting marginal land into high quality wool. We have dyed this base in colours the were inspired by the ecosystem where the fibre was grown. These colours are exclusive to this limited collection and will not be repeated on other bases. 

Anna Hunter of Long Way Homestead has always been passionate about Canadian wool. From the opening of her yarn shop in Vancouver to her transition their family's Manitoba homestead, each step along her journey has grown that fervour for fibre. Anna is now an educator, mentor, advocate, and producer and one of the most genuine and grounded humans you will meet. This yarn is museling free, grown and milled right here in Canada, and reverently hand-dyed in Victoria BC/Lək̓ʷəŋən (Lekwungen) Territory by yours truly. This base is duty & tariff free to the USA at this time.

*Hand dyed skeins may vary slightly both between and within dye lots, therefore, we recommend alternating skeins when knitting a multi-skein project. 

*Due to the nature of hand-dyed yarn and different screens/devices colours may vary from images shown. We do our very best to represent our colours in natural, filtered light and make them as true to in person as possible.
